Casting Calls: ‘Dealer’

A gritty drama about the cat and mouse game played out between a drug dealer and two of his clients. It takes the notion that memories are the latest street drug you can buy, being able to live through any experience providing you can pay for it, and what happens when the memories in your head become a prize worth killing for. I’m looking to submit this short to the festival circuit in 2014. A copy of the final film will be given to all cast and crew.

Wren
I’m looking for someone to play the lead character, Wren, in this gritty street drama. In his 20s, skinny, and must also have good voiceover delivery. Wren is the protagonist and takes his friend Scran, to purchase a drug where you can live any memory you want. Thinks turn sour in this tale of backstabbing and betrayal – what would you do to experience everything you’ve ever wanted? Filming to begin in September, over the course of two days.

Drug dealer D. Mysterious dealer who lives in a secluded block on an estate. Irish Accent – 50s. D has invented a designer drug where you can experience any memory you want. Street wise and manipulates the other characters in the story.

Scran
Scran is the supporting character in this screenplay. 20s and overweight. He’s led by his friend Wren, to experience a hit like no other on his birthday. Scran is rough around the edges – gritty appearance. He wants to be rich, have girls, be respected. But, all is not as it seems – and this quickly turns into a tale of deceit and betrayal.
